A product recall has been issued for Casa Mamita Churro Bites Filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Cream, sold under the Aldi brand, due to the presence of undeclared milk, according to a company announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Camerican International, based in Paramus, New Jersey, is recalling 7.05 oz boxes of the churro bites after it was discovered that the packaging did not list milk as an ingredient. The oversight could pose a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with milk allergies or sensitivities.
The affected product was distributed to Aldi stores in 13 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Boxes are labeled with a “Best If Used By” date of July 14, 2025, and Lot Number 01425.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the product. The recall was initiated after a consumer alerted the company to the labeling issue. An internal investigation revealed the incident resulted from a temporary lapse in the company’s production and packaging processes, which has since been corrected.
Consumers who purchased the product are advised to return it to the store for a full refund. For questions, customers may contact Camerican International at 1-201-587-0101, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, or via email at fsqaincidents@camerican.com.
