In a thrilling announcement timed with R.L. Stine’s birthday, Sony Pictures Television has revealed the subtitle and premiere date for the highly anticipated series “Goosebumps: The Vanishing.” The new season of this beloved anthology series will launch all eight episodes on Friday, January 10, 2025, streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
Alongside the premiere date, key art has been unveiled, featuring Emmy® Award nominee David Schwimmer as Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor who becomes deeply entwined in a world of science and mystery.
The “Goosebumps” franchise, published by Scholastic, stands as one of the bestselling book series in history. The upcoming season draws inspiration from some of the most iconic stories in the collection, including fan favorites like “Stay Out of the Basement,” “The Haunted Car,” “Monster Blood,” “The Girl Who Cried Monster,” and “Welcome to Camp Nightmare.”
“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” follows twins Cece and Devin Brewer as they spend a summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their divorced father. Unbeknownst to them, a sinister threat lurks in the shadows. As dark secrets emerge, they are drawn into a web of mystery surrounding the chilling disappearance of four teenagers in 1994. Joined by friends Alex, CJ, and Frankie, Cece and Devin must navigate the unknown and confront the eerie events that unfold.
The series features an impressive ensemble cast alongside Schwimmer, including Ana Ortiz as Jen, Jayden Bartels as Cece, Sam McCarthy as Devin, Elijah M. Cooper as CJ, Galilea La Salvia as Frankie, Francesca Noel as Alex, and Stony Blyden as Trey.
“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” is developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, with Hilary Winston serving as showrunner. The trio also serves as executive producers alongside Neal H.
