The X Games are coming to Salt Lake City for the first time ever, bringing three days of high-octane action sports to the Utah State Fairpark and Event Center from June 27-29, 2025. The announcement, made at a press conference, marking the second stop in a summer-long X Games tour, which also includes events in Osaka, Japan, and Sacramento, California.
X Games Salt Lake City 2025 will feature more than 100 of the world’s top athletes competing in Moto X, BMX, and skateboarding, with over $1 million in prize money up for grabs. The event promises to deliver jaw-dropping tricks, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments, all set against the backdrop of Salt Lake City’s vibrant outdoor culture.
“Salt Lake City has a deep-rooted passion for action sports, and we’re thrilled to bring the X Games experience here for the first time,” said Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games. “With its incredible outdoor culture, energetic fan base, and strong support from the Utah State Fairpark and Visit Salt Lake, this city is the perfect stage for our athletes to push their limits and put on an unforgettable show.”
Salt Lake City’s reputation as a hub for outdoor adventure and action sports makes it an ideal host for the X Games. The city’s mayor, Erin Mendenhall, expressed her excitement, saying, “Salt Lakers are fans, athletes, and some of them even Olympians—making this a natural fit. We look forward to welcoming competitors and fans to a place that lives and breathes the spirit of competition and community.”
Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson echoed the sentiment, adding, “Hosting the X Games is a testament to our reputation as a premier destination for events that inspire, energize, and unite communities. We can’t wait to showcase our unique spirit to the world and deliver an unforgettable experience for all.”
Among the athletes set to compete is Jagger Eaton, a five-time X Games medalist and two-time Olympic medalist. “I’m stoked to bring X Games to Salt Lake City this summer so action sports fans in Utah can have the chance to experience the energy of skateboarding in person,” Eaton said. “Competing at X Games since I was 11, I am excited to be back competing at X Games this year after securing a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.”
The 2025 X Games summer tour will kick off in Osaka, Japan, from June 20-22, followed by Salt Lake City and concluding in Sacramento, California, from August 22-24. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the X Games, making the 2025 events a must-see celebration of action sports history.
