WEST CALDWELL, N.J. — The Ambriola Company has recalled select cheese products after routine testing detected Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems, the company announced Wednesday.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products, which were processed at Ambriola’s West Caldwell facility. The recall also includes additional cheese items produced at the same facility “out of an abundance of caution,” company officials said.

The affected products were distributed to retail stores and distributors nationwide between November 3, 2025 and November 20, 2025 and include:

Consumers who purchased the affected products are advised not to eat them and should either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The recall does not affect other Ambriola products or items sold under the Locatelli, Member’s Mark, Pinna, or Boar’s Head brands.
“We take food safety very seriously and immediately alerted stores and distributors to remove the affected products from shelves,” said Phil Marfuggi, Ambriola’s chief executive officer. “We are working closely with the FDA and continuing to test our products and facilities to fully understand the situation.”
Ambriola has suspended production and distribution of the affected cheeses while reviewing sanitation and food safety procedures. Customers seeking more information can contact Ambriola at 1-800-962-8224, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
