La Fiesta Food Products, LLC has issued a recall of 8 oz packages of both Unseasoned and Seasoned Bread Crumbs under the La Fiesta brand due to the presence of an undeclared sesame allergen. This recall affects products sold nationwide from April 2024 to January 2025, and could pose a serious health risk to individuals with a sesame allergy or severe sensitivity.
- La Fiesta Brand Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) 8oz (UPC# 032327000886) – Lot codes: 26032, 26073, 26082, 26092, 26094, 26400
- La Fiesta Brand Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado) 8oz (UPC# 032327000887) – Lot codes: 26094, 26123
The error was discovered after a review of the labeling, revealing that sesame, a common allergen, was not listed on the packaging. This oversight could lead to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in individuals who consume the product and are allergic to sesame.
No illnesses have been reported at this time. However, anyone who purchased these products is urged to return them to the point of purchase for a full refund. The recalled bread crumbs are packaged in transparent 8 oz plastic bags with an attached printed label. The lot codes can be found on the front of the package.
La Fiesta Food Products initiated the recall after identifying the labeling error, and further investigation confirmed that the issue stemmed from the labeling process.
