Paramount+ has officially unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for 1923, the latest chapter in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe. Debuted Sunday, December 18, in the U.S. and Canada, the new drama series brings a fresh generation of Duttons to the screen, led by legendary actors Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. Aired in the U.K. and Australia on December 19, 1923 promises to deliver the gripping narrative fans of Yellowstone have come to expect.
A prequel to Yellowstone’s 1883, 1923 follows the Dutton family during a tumultuous period in American history. This new installment explores the early 20th century, delving into the challenges of pandemics, droughts, Prohibition’s end, and the Great Depression in the Mountain West. At the center of the story is patriarch Jacob Dutton, portrayed by Ford, and his wife, Cara Dutton, played by Mirren. Together, they will navigate the fierce struggles that threaten their land and family legacy.
The star-studded cast also includes Darren Mann (Animal Kingdom), Michelle Randolph (A Snow White Christmas), James Badge Dale (Hightown), Marley Shelton (Scream), Brian Geraghty (Big Sky), Aminah Nieves (Blueberry), and Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones).

In a special simulcast event, Paramount Network will air the debut episode of 1923 immediately after a new episode of Yellowstone, giving fans an exclusive first look at the drama before it hits Paramount+.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, 1923 is executive produced by Sheridan, alongside John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, and Ben Richardson.
This new series adds to Sheridan’s expanding collection of shows on Paramount+, including 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and the upcoming Lioness and Land Man.
As Paramount+ continues to grow its offering of original content, 1923 marks another high-profile addition to its impressive lineup. Fans can expect the epic storytelling Sheridan is known for, complete with complex characters, historical drama, and breathtaking landscapes.
