May 28, 2025 — Rancho Dominguez, CA — Santa Monica Seafood has issued a voluntary recall of its Atlantic Salmon Portions with Seafood Stuffing, sold under the Aldi brand, due to the presence of undeclared soy, a common allergen. The recall, announced on May 24, 2025, affects products distributed in California, Nevada, and Arizona at Aldi grocery store locations.
Health Risk for Soy-Allergic Individuals
The product may pose a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with a soy allergy or severe sensitivity. Although no illnesses have been reported, the recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution after a labeling oversight was identified.
The issue was discovered during a routine inspection of label proofs from a completed production batch. The soy-containing ingredient was found to be missing from the product’s ingredient list, potentially exposing allergic consumers to a dangerous situation.
