Opening to the public May 15, 2025, this free-admission exhibition blends art, athletics, and science in a hands-on, immersive environment designed to celebrate sports, movement, and community. Developed with generous support from the Walter Family Foundation, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, and LA84 Foundation, GAME ON! will remain on view through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“For the first time, the California Science Center has commissioned public art to complement a hands-on science exhibition,” said Jeffrey Rudolph, President and CEO of the California Science Center. “These site-specific murals celebrate the intersection of science, sports, and community, enriching the GAME ON! experience and reinforcing our commitment to creating fun and memorable experiences that inspire science learning in everyone.”

Spotlight on the Murals and Artists

The exhibition’s sprawling 17,000-square-foot space is set to come alive with color and culture, thanks to three powerful mural installations:

Moses X. Ball – “Motivation in Motion” (23 ft x 18 ft)
A South Central native, Ball’s mural features young Angelenos, family, and friends engaged in sports, highlighting athletics as a pathway to growth and empowerment. Known for uplifting overlooked heroes, Ball painted the mural off-site in acrylic on polytab, which was then reassembled in the exhibition space.

Laci Jordan – “For the Love of the Game” (48 ft x 16 ft)
With a bold color palette and a signature blend of pop culture and identity, Jordan’s mural focuses on how sports can build strong, inclusive communities. Her mural, supported by Smiling Tiger Studios, celebrates authenticity and the joy of play through a vibrant, energetic design.

Gustavo Zermeño Jr

Gustavo Zermeño Jr. – “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball” (60 ft x 18 ft)
A lifelong Dodgers fan, Zermeño’s mural channels the electric spirit of Los Angeles’ baseball culture. Painted directly onto the wall using aerosols and acrylics, the mural honors the unifying power of sports and features iconic Dodger imagery. A timelapse video of the mural’s installation captures the impressive scale and artistry behind the piece.
