Forum Rules
To maintain a welcoming, respectful space for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Be respectful. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. We’re all here to learn and share.
- Use English only. Posts should be in English; if you wish to write in another language, please do so via private messages.
- No spam. Irrelevant or promotional posts will be removed.
- Avoid all caps. Writing in all capitals is considered shouting and isn’t necessary.
- Keep images under 800×600. This helps users with slower connections and keeps the forum neat.
- No red text. Only moderators and administrators may use it.
- No personal attacks. Insults, flaming, or harassment toward other members or staff will not be tolerated.
- Use appropriate language. Some members may be younger. Mild swearing is allowed, but keep it minimal and respectful. A language filter is in place.
- No hacking or illegal activity. Discussions or links related to torrents, illegal downloads, or similar content are strictly prohibited and may be reported to local authorities.
- No inappropriate content. If you wouldn’t view it at work or in front of children, don’t post it.
What Happens if You Break a Rule
Consequences depend on the severity of the rule violation:
- First offense (minor): You may receive a private message correction; no further action taken.
- Serious offense: You’ll receive a formal warning recorded to your account.
- Second offense: Another warning will be issued.
- Third offense: A temporary ban may occur, with length determined by the severity of the violation.
- Further offenses: A permanent ban will be applied, meaning you will no longer be able to access the forum.

r/pics Rules
1. No screenshots, AI images, or screen-focused photos

Screenshots are not allowed.

Images where a screen is the sole or primary focus are prohibited.

Images with unnecessary margins of any color may be treated as screenshots.

Photos that include screens may be allowed only if the screen is not the main subject.

AI-generated images of any kind are not permitted.
2. No digital text or added elements

No images with superimposed digital text, emojis, or “MS Paint”-style markings.

“Added text” includes drawings, whether digital or hand-drawn.

Photoshopped or otherwise manipulated images are allowed.

Watermarks must be subtle and unobtrusive.

Faces and personal information may be blurred, boxed, or obscured.
3. No pornography or gore

Pornographic or gory content is prohibited.

Artistic nudity is allowed but must be tagged NSFW.

Images displaying genitals are generally treated as pornography.

Images showing excessive blood or exposed internal injuries are not allowed.

NSFW links in comments must be clearly tagged.

Posting gratuitous material may result in an immediate and permanent ban.
4. No doxxing or witch-hunts

Do not share personal information in posts or comments.

Direct links to social media sites are not allowed.

5. Titles must follow all rules

All submissions must comply with the subreddit’s title rules, detailed separately.
6. Only approved image hosts

Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or approved image host.

Direct image links ending in .png, .jpg, or .jpeg are permitted.

URL shorteners are prohibited.

URLs may not appear in image or album descriptions.
7. No GIFs or videos

GIFs, videos, and animated media are not allowed.

Please post animated content to r/GIFs, r/GIF, r/Videos, or r/ReactionGIFs instead.
8. Remain civil

Treat others with respect and basic decency.

Personal attacks, insults, or demeaning language toward individuals or groups are not allowed.

Violations may result in content removal or a ban.
9. No progress pictures

Before-and-after images showing personal health progress or achievement are prohibited.

Standalone images of personal achievement items (e.g., medals, certificates, trophies) are not allowed.

Exceptions include images showing age progression (e.g., childhood vs. adulthood).
10. No false claims of ownership or flooding

Do not claim ownership of images you did not create or take.

Using the [OC] tag is considered a false claim unless the content is entirely your own.

Flooding (more than four posts within a rolling 24-hour period) is prohibited.

Violations may result in a ban.
11. Reposts are limited

Images currently on the r/pics front page will be removed if reposted.

Reposts of the top 25 images of the year and the top 50 images of all time are also removed.
12. No self-promotional accounts

Only one self-promotional link is allowed per post.
-
Well-established accounts are not exempt from this rule.
-
Accounts created primarily for advertising or promotion will be banned.
