Forum Rules
To maintain a welcoming, respectful space for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:

  1. Be respectful. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. We’re all here to learn and share.
  2. Use English only. Posts should be in English; if you wish to write in another language, please do so via private messages.
  3. No spam. Irrelevant or promotional posts will be removed.
  4. Avoid all caps. Writing in all capitals is considered shouting and isn’t necessary.
  5. Keep images under 800×600. This helps users with slower connections and keeps the forum neat.
  6. No red text. Only moderators and administrators may use it.
  7. No personal attacks. Insults, flaming, or harassment toward other members or staff will not be tolerated.
  8. Use appropriate language. Some members may be younger. Mild swearing is allowed, but keep it minimal and respectful. A language filter is in place.
  9. No hacking or illegal activity. Discussions or links related to torrents, illegal downloads, or similar content are strictly prohibited and may be reported to local authorities.
  10. No inappropriate content. If you wouldn’t view it at work or in front of children, don’t post it.

What Happens if You Break a Rule
Consequences depend on the severity of the rule violation:

  • First offense (minor): You may receive a private message correction; no further action taken.
  • Serious offense: You’ll receive a formal warning recorded to your account.
  • Second offense: Another warning will be issued.
  • Third offense: A temporary ban may occur, with length determined by the severity of the violation.
  • Further offenses: A permanent ban will be applied, meaning you will no longer be able to access the forum.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Wick & Company Forums a friendly, safe, and productive space for all members. Enjoy sharing, learning, and connecting!

r/travel is a community for exploring the world.
Photos, questions, stories, and high-quality travel content are welcome.

Please read all rules and pinned announcements before posting. Failure to follow the rules may result in a permanent ban. If you have never contributed positively before being banned, the likelihood of a successful appeal is extremely low.

r/travel Rules

1. Avoid Repetitive Questions

  • Read the FAQ and search the subreddit before posting.

  • Do not ask “moving to” or “where should I move” questions.

  • No vague or generic, open-ended questions such as “Where should I go next year?” or “What was a hidden gem for you?” These are considered karma farming.

  • Consider more appropriate subreddits when applicable:
    r/flights, r/awardtravel, r/creditcards, r/itookapicture, r/expat, r/travelpartners

2. Use Descriptive Titles and Provide Context

  • Titles must be descriptive and include the destination, area, and country.

  • Image posts must inspire and include meaningful travel context. Follow photo submission rules.

  • Clickbait or cliché album titles such as “hidden gem” or “underrated” will be removed.

3. No Clickbait, Blogspam, or Self-Promotion

The following are not allowed and may result in bans:

  • Clickbait, spam, memes, ads, brochures

  • Surveys, market research

  • Blogs, vlogs, AMAs, Instagram, TikTok, or other social media

  • Self-promotion of any kind

Additional restrictions:

  • Everyday news articles and announcements are generally not accepted.

  • No diary entries or long personal essays.

  • No meetups, travel partner requests, missed connections, selling, trading, bartering, or begging.

  • Complaint or rant-only posts from new users will be removed.

4. Be Specific When Asking for Advice

When asking for help, include relevant details such as:

  • Starting location, travel dates, budget, interests

  • Places you’ve already been

  • Preferences and dislikes

Flight or airfare questions must include:

  • Exact travel dates

  • Cities or airports

  • Airlines and flight numbers

  • Booking source (OTA or direct with airline)

Visa or passport questions must include your country of citizenship.

Posts involving mystery countries, cities, airports, airlines, citizenships, or “guessing games” will be removed.

5. Check Direct Sources First

  • If your question can be answered with a quick Google search, do that first.

  • Contact airlines, hotels, embassies, or official sources directly when appropriate.

  • Show your research and cite sources if information is unclear or conflicting.

  • Questions about predictions or speculation regarding safety or travel restrictions will be removed.

  • Always rely on official government travel advisories.

6. Absolutely No AI

  • AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.

  • This includes posting or commenting AI-generated text, suggesting AI tools, or asking the community to review AI-generated itineraries.

  • Rewritten or proofread content produced by AI is also prohibited.

  • There is no distinction between AI-generated fiction and real events rewritten by AI.

  • Violations result in a permanent ban.

7. No Low-Effort Posts

  • Questions must show prior research (see the r/travel wiki).

  • Itinerary, airfare, pricing, or routing questions must include at least two options.

  • No “Crystal Ball” questions (e.g., price predictions, future layovers, carry-on enforcement).

  • Repetitive question formats will be removed.

  • We are not your travel agents.

8. No Racism, Trolling, or Politics

  • Keep discussions civil. No racism, personal attacks, disrespect toward countries or cultures, or negative stereotyping.

  • No inciting arguments or flame wars.

  • Extended political or off-topic debates will result in bans for all participants.

  • Politics are strictly prohibited and will be enforced without exception.

9. No Spam

  • Avoid posting solely for promotional or marketing purposes.

  • Posts containing hashtags will be removed.

  • Users who post, comment, or recommend AI or ChatGPT will be banned.
